Maria, if you had to sum yourself up in just 5 emojis, which ones would you choose? Then, tell us a bit more about your background.

😄 We must not take the smile off our face, regardless of what we are going through and where we are.

💄Tenderness, natural beauty, makeup only to enhance beauty.

🦁 My zodiac sign is Leo and I have many similar traits – combative, self-confident and people can feel my energy, I have leadership qualities, but I don’t brag about my accomplishments without someone asking.

🌞 The sun is because we need to be positive and carry that warmth within us and radiate a strong cool energy.

♥️ The heart, because we are all love, whatever we do we must do it with a lot of love and love with all our heart.

I’m 19 years old and from Lovech. Since childhood, I’ve been involved in beauty pageants and have always loved being in the spotlight. My passion for beauty contests eventually sparked a new dream: modeling. Although I spent two years with an agency, my career didn’t take off as I’d hoped, but I still enjoy being in front of the camera and have a passion for photography. I take pride in my natural beauty, preferring to embrace my authentic self without corrections.

You mentioned modeling was a dream, but your career didn’t take off as planned despite signing with an agency. Why and what did you learn from that experience?

It didn’t work for me in the agency because I don’t like having limits set for me or having decisions made on my behalf. The experience I gained was very valuable—not just for the cameras, but for life as well, teaching me to be myself and stay authentic to stand out.

How do you feel about beauty standards today, and what message would you like to share about embracing natural beauty?

I’m a stickler for natural beauty because after all, we carry our family history that way. Our facial features, our body curves are all us because of our family and we should be proud and love ourselves for who we are.

Could you tell us about some of the hobbies you enjoy in your free time?

My free time is on the weekend and I try to spend with family and friends. During the week, I diversify with different crime films, I read books about Bulgarian poetry, I do sports at least 4 times a week at the gym, I recently rediscovered sports and I feel how I relieve myself in this way and then I am much more energized. Some evenings I like to draw. Some weekends I still go to photo shoots, but it’s nothing serious, just for fun. I’m an artistic person and I’m really impressed by the little things. I have started taking more care of myself and I feel very recharged and at peace with myself.

What are your thoughts on Miss Bulgaria and what it represents?

I think the competition’s reputation has faded over the years, and people tend to overlook it, but that’s no longer the case. Holding the title of Miss Bulgaria is a big responsibility; it opens doors for growth, training, and more photoshoots. It’s also a chance to make new friends, step out of your comfort zone, and embrace an incredible challenge.

If you could share one piece of advice with others, what would it be?

The advice I would give is to enjoy the successes of others, not to have envy and bad thoughts, because what you are on the inside also reflects on your appearance.

What are your biggest ambitions for the future, and what drives you to reach them?

My biggest dream is to be a teacher of young children because there is no hate in them and I will always keep that spark in me. This is the profession that gives you life and fills you with positive energy and love.

Now, Maria, as if by magic, you become the journalist! What intriguing question would you ask yourself to reveal something special about you?

When is your first book coming out?
I don’t know, it’s a bit of a subjective question, but I dream of publishing a book someday. I love to write and create, and when I have a muse, the words just write themselves.
